About Suzanne M.

Suzanne Morlock is a Jackson Hole based intermedia artist who exhibits internationally and maintains an active schedule dividing venues between experimental and traditional settings. Influenced by early training in Los Angeles, she now looks to the rural surroundings of northwestern Wyoming for an introspective influence on her work. Her work has been in group and solo exhibitions throughout the West and the world beyond, including France, Germany, Iceland, Poland, and Turkey. Most recently, she was featured in Sculpture Magazine (March 2012) and in 2012 was nominated for a United States Artists Fellowship and a Contemporary Northwest Artist Award.

Sweater Still Shines

Link

Sweater, my gigantic Charlie Brown shirt inspired piece made from salvaged mylar waste, has yet again garnered more media attention, this time from the Blogosphere, from the Green Life blog of Sierra magazine’s website. Sierra is a publication of the Sierra Club. Sweater is still on display at the Charles Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa through February. Right now, there is a possibility of Sweater coming back to Jackson to live permanently. Nothing for sure yet, though.

coming soon!

Welcome to my new blog site! I will be using this space to give you my own spin on happenings in the art world in general. I welcome thoughtful discussion via the comment system. Specific news about my own art will still be posted on my News page as it always has.

Due to issues of comment spam rampant in the blogosphere, I ask that you identify yourself before making comments. All you need is a user name and a valid e-mail address. (Disposable e-mail addresses are not allowed.) If you provide a web address, it should be to your personal site. (Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn pages OK) Commenters using promotional links will be blocked. Your first post will be held for moderation until we can verify you are a real person. After that, you can comment away without any further hindrance, as long as you use the same user name and e-mail address. However, if you post multiple links or use spammy words in your comment, the post will be delayed. Finally, I do ask that your comments be substantive and not just those “Awesome!” type of comments. As much as such kudos are appreciated, they detract from thoughtful discussion. I reserve the right to remove comments that are off topic, promotional, inflammatory, slanderous, or spam. I promise to leave comments I don’t like as long as they are topical.

Your e-mail will not be displayed at any time, nor will it be given out to anyone, ever. It will remain on our server as a unique identifier for your ‘account’. The little monster avatars that appear by your posts are randomly assigned by the blog system to your e-mail address to help differentiate various commenters. You can use your own custom avatar via the Gravatar system. Consider signing up if you haven’t yet.

Come back soon to see my sitings (sic 😉 ) on what matters in the Art World!
