November opened with the completion of the fabrication of Flight of Fancy — poles, ropes, lace were carefully assembled to be installed in Parpansali Park.

RaumArs Artist in Residency Programme Manager, Hannele Kolsio shouldered the majority of the community resource coordination with her long tenure in the community and the RaumArs program and filled in for our lack of local language and connections. All involved with this project are forever grateful for her efforts!

With a tremendous outpouring of community support, material and service donations and collaborations with the Valo Workshop and the City of Rauma and countless unaffiliated willing people, the installation happened before the weather turned, just!

The official unveiling of Flight of Fancy also revealed the Finnish title of the work, a long sought title to convey in Finnish the essense of the English title. A crowd of about 50 gathered on a wet snowy morning as part of the official opening of the Christmas season around town.
