And The Knitting Begins!

This week I participated in a knitting session at Jackson’s River Rock Assisted Living where we explored knitting and variations on conventional knitting using finger knitting and a small invented loom. We all laughed as stories were passed around and some new creative variations were made.

Mary, Janet, Jean and Suzanne test out variations on knitting

Also this past week the Coats & Clark donations arrived. The Senior Center made the request in August and while we expected one box, we received two! These donations had quite the variety in them including a couple of pairs of knitting needles and some thread. Major Bison, a sculpture on Village Road by John Simms, will look swell in some of the varied and colorful yarns!

There is still lots of planning and more animals are being added as new and creative directions ignite across the valley. Even so, some folks have started to knit. I’ll share more about those emerging projects as they unfold. Meanwhile, new folks are learning how to knit and some plans are settling in.

As the project is fluid and open, folks who are ready to join in now are welcome to do so and for those who can’t make the knitting gatherings but want to contribute, email me (You need javascript enabled!) and I’ll be happy to pass along some patterns for participation.
