Latest Meeting

Today planning continued and the ideas began to really flow. Some folks from River Rock joined in and I’m looking forward to working with interested folks next Monday at River Rock on finger knitting.

Georgie, Lisa, Jana, and Sharon throw around some variations on ideas and figure out how they want to proceed.

Lots of enthusiasm and a free flow of creative ideas infused the morning with a good environment for thinking out of the box and planning collaboratively. I’m gathering resources for a couple of the pieces, one may involve some structural elements. Another participant, Alex, has his eye on video taping the process using an old VHS camera for a special ‘look’.

Mary Ann, Mary, and Christie plot their next steps for the First Interstate Duo.

The beauty of such a project is that it grows and evolves with the excitement and information exchange among those who join in. As the facilitator of the project, I went home yesterday satisfied and ready for the next steps.

People can join in at any time and many have emailed me wanting to be a part of this but can’t come on Tuesday mornings. (You need javascript enabled!) We may look at an evening session at the Senior Center to accommodate schedules. Also in October there will be sessions on Sunday afternoons at the Center for the Arts. Below is the schedule.

Senior Center — October 2nd, 9th and 16th; 10am-Noon; Health Room
Center for the Arts — October 21st, 28th, November 4th, 11th and 18th;  2pm-4pm; Conference Room (Glenwood side)

P.S. Tomorrow night at JH Culture Front Live, I’ll be talking about the role of the artist in community projects such as these. Spread the word and come if you can.
